Model description page for
Ford Super Duty 1999-2016 and
Excursion, all years.

The photo to the right shows one popular method of breaking into your Ford F250, F350, F450 Super Duty or Excursion.

The thief pry's into the door under the handle to get at the lock rods inside the door. Then, they force the rod to move and unlock the door!

It's fast, easy and quiet, making this a favorite among thieves. >

This picture was sent to us by a customer who luckily had the Jimmi' Jammer® already installed on his truck. You can see the scratches on the plate where the thief tried to get at the lock rods. >>

Another popular method is to "Punch" the lock straight into the door cavity. This is also very easy to do since the handle and lock holder are all made of plastic!

What's the solution?

Read on...

Above: Actual customer photo. Lucky he had the Jimmi' Jammer®!

< The photo to the left shows a Jimmi' Jammer® plate mounted inside the door. The plate surrounds the lock cylinder, (toward the left of the photo,) reinforcing the plastic holding the lock in place and blocking access to the lock rods inside the door. (Lock rods are not shown here for clarity.)

Notice the circular clamp around the lock cylinder holder. This clamp reinforces the lock cylinder holder and adds support behind the plate for strength.

Mounting the plate inside the door also helps prevent the thief from pulling the entire handle away from the body far enough to stick a tool into the door cavity and get at the lock rods, another favorite way to break in to your truck.

What about rear doors and doors that don't have a lock cylinder on them?

On rear doors of a four door truck, or Excursion, the plates are still necessary. The lock rods inside the doors still are accessible by a thief who knows how to get at them. Also, the door latch assembly is just below the handle on these doors and can be easily reached with a screwdriver and/or short piece of wire. Installing the rear plates will help prevent access to the latch and rods inside the door.

The photo to the right shows the inside of a rear door. The Jimmi' Jammer® plate is installed (center of photo) and you can see the door latch mechanism below and to the left edge of the photo. For obvious reasons, we won't further describe how they get in, but suffice it to say, they can and do!

If your front passenger side door doesn't have a lock either, you still need a plate on that door too! By pulling the handle away from the door slightly, the thief can get at the rod running across the door cavity, even though there is no lock cylinder.

Special Note for Super Duty and Excursion owners

Are you considering swapping your front door handles out with rear door handles to get rid of the lock cylinders?

Many SD/Excursion owners are doing this modification. It is not a difficult process, and it may provide some visual deterrence. However, there are a few important things you need to know before you do this:

1. Although it does eliminate the lock cylinders, it DOES NOT eliminate the possibility that a thief can get in through the handle assembly. There are other lock rods inside your door, such as the manual lock pull inside the cab, that are still accessible even when the lock is gone. That is why you will still need the Jimmi' Jammer® installed even when the locks are gone! If you use rear handles on front doors, get our rear door kits, PN 103010 for both front and rear doors!

2. Keep your old handles, locks and rods in case you want to put them back in for the sale or trade-in of the vehicle. Some dealers don't want to take vehicles with this type of modification.

You may also want to check out our new PunchPlug™ product rather than buying the rear door handles. Check it out here.

We have a couple of different models for your Super Duty or Excursion. Use the chart below to find the right kit part number for your vehicle, then visit our dealer page to see where you can buy a set.

Notes:
1. The rear door kits, PN 103010 is an addition to our line based on customer requests. Yes, the thieves are able to break in through the rear doors. Also, we recommend putting a plate on the front passenger door even if there is no lock cylinder on that door.
2. Tailgate handle kit PN 113475 has been discontinued.
3. IMPORTANT: We have been made aware that PN 103002 has been knocked off by a chinese company selling on Amazon. BEWARE! These parts do not fit! We know because a customer mistakenly sent a set to us because it did not fit!!! You may find listings by several company names such as Vodcaca, Topvop, Shunsen, LQito, and Boeeda. They all appear to be the same company with different names. They stole our pictures and part number as well. Be sure you buy only the parts with the Jimmi' Jammer brand name as so far they are not using that. One company lists ship time as "Ships in 1 to 2 months". Be careful to be sure you are buying from Redline Technical Group, Inc., a USA company. We cannot help you if you buy from one of these rip-off artists!
